Lead Minister of New Street
Vacancy Reference cofe/TP/64996/8653
Introduction
New Street Church is a well-established warm and vibrant church community based in the Cornish town of Falmouth.
New Street Church was established by the Diocese of Truro in 2019 in order, first and foremost,
to establish a new worshipping community, appealing to the “missing generations” of the
C of E under the objectives of the mission initiative “Transforming Mission” which aims to renew
Anglican Church life across communities in the Diocese of Truro and to encourage and attract
individuals of all ages to the Church of England. The further aim was to establish and facilitate
relationships in ministry and mission between parishes in the local Deanery.
New Street Church is not a parish as such, but operates under a Bishops Mission Order, and
is governed by Charitable Incorporated Organisation’s trustees. Hence, we
have freedom to pursue our vision and objectives without geographical constraint. We seek to
cultivate a community that feels like family and that many can call a home.
Our Sunday gatherings are a highlight of our week: they are anchored in prayer and with a
strong emphasis on worship, guided by the Bible and the Holy Spirit, and inspire our mission to
serve, reach, and bless others. We come from a range of ages and backgrounds, united by our
passion for enabling younger generations to encounter God and witnessing his love transform
lives and communities.
We are looking for someone who is ordained in the Church of England with proven leadership
experience although not necessarily in a classic church context.
