Overview

Capital Vision 2020 is the Diocese of London's vision for a church that is more confident, creative and compassionate in the way we live and share the Gospel of Jesus Christ. This vision means we have a number of exciting projects underway, working to support and engage with parishes around the Diocese.

Closing Date - Tuesday 8 January 2019, 11.59pm

Introduction

We are currently recruiting for a part time (4 days/week) paid Intern to support the delivery of Capital Vision as well as the development of the emerging strategy post 2020 across the Diocese.

In addition to supporting parishes in delivering Capital Vision 2020, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to develop skills in the area of project management, relationship management, event planning and communications in particular.

Main Responsibilities

You will have the opportunity to work across our Capital Vision priorities, from our aim of seeking to equip and commission 100,000 ambassadors representing Jesus Christ in daily life, to engaging with the creative arts and sports.  The work will range from organising meetings and events, to writing reports, stories and profiles, distilling themes from research and will involve using event planning, web publishing and email tools.

The postholder may be required to undertake any other duties that are commensurate with the role.

The Ideal Candidate

This internship would suit an organised, creative individual with an interest in project management, communications and event organisation. They will need to hold project leaders to account for delivery as well as manage some projects themselves to time and budget. Strong digital and creative communication skills and evidence organising events would all be an asset in this role.  They will also be enthusiastic about promoting evangelism, the growth of the church in London and its depth of faith in Jesus Christ.

About us

The Church of England in London is growing, vibrant and at the heart of communities throughout the capital. At the London Diocesan Fund we seek to do everything we can to support this mission and growth, using our resources to help our parishes and chaplains to serve over 4 million people.

We understand the benefits of employing individuals from a range of backgrounds, with diverse cultures and talents. We aim to create a workforce that:

  • Values difference in others and respects the dignity and worth of each individual
  • Reflects the diversity of the nation that the Church of England exists to serve
  • Fosters a climate of creativity, tolerance and diversity that will help all staff to develop to their full potential.
