The Ideal Candidate

Our new Stewardship Adviser will

  • have the skills to enable churches to thrive and grow;
  • help others find their vision and enable them to release resource to pursue this;
  • be good at helping leaders put strategy into practice.

About us

The Diocese of Portsmouth is working towards a mission strategy that prioritises evangelism, community engagement and church growth, reflecting the national church’s Renewal and Reform agenda.  In 2015 we launched our Live Pray Serve diocesan strategic purpose for renewal. This strategy involves a vision centred on congregational growth and social engagement through inter-related projects that we hope will make church presence more vibrant and visible in every community.

The role of the Stewardship Adviser will be as a focus for mission activity in the parishes and church communities of the diocese, raising the profile of the need for intentional stewardship in parishes.   For those developing Fresh Expressions and pioneer ministries, the Stewardship adviser will continue to be a source of support, challenge and innovation.  The Stewardship Adviser will be part of the ministry, discipleship and mission team and work towards creating innovative solutions for the mission needs of the diocese.
