Introduction
An opportunity has arisen for a Constable for Liverpool Cathedral. You will report directly to the Head Constable and work within the Constable team to provide a first class 24 hour security service for the Cathedral and its surrounding buildings. You will encounter many people who visit, worship, volunteer and work at the Cathedral and you will be expected to be a great ambassador.
Main Responsibilities
The person we are looking for will:
- Have qualifications in Maths and English at grade C/level 3 or above
- Be an excellent communicator (written and verbal), with effective tact and diplomacy skills
- Be confident and calm, particularly when under pressure
- Be welcoming, professional and courteous at all times
- Be resilient and able to diffuse difficult situations
The successful candidate will also be expected to pass a level 3 Certificate in Cathedral Constables Attestation during a 12 month probationary period.
This role is subject to an application under the Disclosure and Barring Service and all subsequent safeguarding training is a requirement of the role.

Desirable requirements include -
- Attested skills
- Previous experience of working within the armed forces, police or security industry
- Working within a community environment
- Previous experience of handling cash
