Overview

St Paul’s is working to make a tangible difference to people’s lives by engaging with social injustice as part of its Christian mission, in particular with young people and mental health.

Following the appointment of Canon Tricia Hillas as Speaker’s Chaplain at the House of Commons, the Crown and the Bishop of London invite applications for this new and exciting post.

Introduction

We seek an Anglican priest with significant experience of enabling change through partnerships with others, to help us to transform our own work and people’s lives in the name of Jesus Christ.

Main Responsibilities

As a member of Chapter, the Canon for Social Justice, like the other Residentiary Canons, will be fully involved in the spiritual life, outreach, governance and management of the Cathedral.

The Ideal Candidate

You will be creative, open and effective in enabling diverse people and partners to work together for the common good.

About us

St Paul’s draws together a very diverse set of activities, projections and aspirations.  It is the Cathedral of the Diocese of London and the seat of its Bishop, a national church and an international spiritual focus, a space for worship and holiness, a place of debate and challenge, an icon of resilience in the face of adversity, an architectural heritage centre, a partner in the City of London, and a commercial enterprise.  In addition to holding four services every day (five on Sundays), St Paul’s is open for sight-seeing six days a week, and in 2018 welcomed over 850,000 paying visitors.
