Overview

Overview

The church of Holy Trinity, Parr Mount in St Helens is seeking a pioneering priest who can lead them in their continued church planting journey, as part of the Transform North West (Resource Church) project.

The parish wants to build on the form foundations laid by their historic ministry and the structural agreements in place to allow for their whole ministry and mission to be renewed. They seek someone who can provide leadership to help them use their strength and talents to grow, at an accelerated rate, a bigger church making a bigger difference.

As Priest in Charge you will join a small, but committed, planting team, and build a vision to plant and grow a friendly, welcoming church Together you will focus your ministry and mission on the needs of young people, young families and young adults. To assist in this task, finance is in place to appoint a worship leader (part-time), youth worker (part-time), children and families worker (part-time) and an operations manager (part-time). You will also lead a team that includes a curate, and we hope to identify an ordinand training with St Mellitus, North West. You will be in a town that is proud of its past and investing significantly in its future.

Holy Trinity seeks someone who desires a stretching challenge. Someone who can pioneer and plant, imagining ministry and mission from a blank canvas.

Could you be the person hearing the call to this important role?

Closing Date: 9th March 2020
Interviews: to be confirmed

Introduction

Post introduction

Holy Trinity is a grade II listed building noted for the architectural impact caused by the cement and copper slag that clad the building. There was an internal reordering of the building (adding a café area, internal sub-divisions and removing pews) some time ago. About us

About the Diocese of Liverpool

For many years we have been working to achieve growth in our diocese. We have used different ways to express this but the aim and direction of travel has remained the same – consistent with the whole of the Church of England. When Bishop Paul was installed he adopted our growth agenda refreshing it by saying ‘we are asking God for a bigger church so we can make a bigger difference; more people knowing Jesus more justice in the world’

This is how we express our mission.

We think we will achieve this mission if we have:

100 new congregations
1,000 new leaders
10,000 disciples

to help us do this we are calling every worshipping Christian in our diocese to

  • sign up to the Bishop of Liverpool’s rule of life which will encourage and support us to Read, Learn, Pray, Give, Serve, Tell
  • bring 1 friend into the regular worshipping and serving life of the church (bring one friend)
  • do 10 acts of service or find 10 new points of connection beyond the walls of the church (do ten things).
