Overview

The Centre for Church Planting and Growth supports the work of the Bishop of Islington, one of the Suffragan Bishops of the London Diocese. Bishop Ric was consecrated in September 2015 to support the London Diocesan goal of creating 100 New Worshipping Communities and is available to the National Church to support church planting.

His dynamic and creative team, based at St Edmund the King in London, provides a range of support to identify, develop and plant new worshipping communities as well as encourage church growth.

Introduction

Bishop Ric was consecrated in September 2015 to support the London Diocesan goal of creating 100 New Worshipping Communities and is available to the National Church to support church planting and growth.

His Dynamic and creative team, based at St Edmund the King in London help to run church planting training courses and church growth learning communities, to equip church planters through individual consultations, and to develop resources for the wider church.

Our GROW programme is all about seeing churches grow in numbers, depth and impact. The course has been developed with a particular focus on churches in London, and we aim to work closely with the London Diocese and the Area teams. There are three elements to the programme - digital teaching content, learning communities, and coaching.  The Relationship Manager will make sure that the journey through the course, from initial interest to demonstrable impact, is as smooth and positive as possible for church

Main Responsibilities

  • Provide a point of contact for support, development and communication for churches interested in GROW or who have started the programme.
  • Assist in building and maintaining good relationships with church leaders, including coaching, learning community and other pastoral support or practical signposting.
  • Develop the customer success function of the GROW Programme, working with other team members.
  • Assist in the preparation of reports on pipeline status.
  • Help communicate clearly the progress of churches to GROW team.
  • Support in the collection of data including attendance and other growth metrics.
  • Work with the GROW Programme Manager to ensure maximum engagement of churches with data collection.
  • Ensure regular contact with churches in London diocese by phone, email, SMS and other methods as appropriate. 
  • Ensure the coaching team are engaged with the GROW programme, reporting back regularly, and have the information they need to support church leaders with coaching.
  • Work with other team members to develop a clear customer pathway through the programme.
  • Participate in GROW team meetings and occasionally lead weekly CCX team prayer.
  • Cooperate with LDF staff to collect statistical information.
  • The post holder may be required to undertake any other duties that are commensurate with the role.

The Ideal Candidate

Experience, knowledge, training and qualifications:

  • Experience planning and executing projects aimed at improving the experience of clients or customer.
  • Experience connecting, supporting and caring for clients, individuals or other relevant experience.
  • Listening, support and practical signposting skills.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience with MS office or similar.
  • Good administrative and organisational skills
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills - ability to work effectively and collaboratively with individuals from different parts of the church with different traditions, backgrounds and perspectives.
  • Familiarity with the Church of England and Diocese of London is a plus but not  essential.
