Introduction

St Paul’s Cathedral is seeking a passionate and engaging Learning & Engagement Officer to join our Learning team on a fixed term maternity cover basis.


This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in delivering high-quality, inspiring learning experiences for children, young people and families. You will bring the story of St Paul’s to life, supporting visitors to explore its history, heritage, and the Christian faith through creative and engaging sessions.


You will deliver sessions both onsite at the Cathedral and, occasionally, through virtual platforms, working with a wide range of audiences across different ages and learning needs.


About you:

We’re looking for someone who is enthusiastic, creative, and confident in working with young people.
You will have:

  • A teaching qualification or relevant experience delivering learning to children and young people
  • Experience facilitating engaging sessions in a school, museum, gallery, cathedral or community setting •    Strong communication and organisational skills 
  • The ability to work collaboratively and flexibly as part of a team 
  • An understanding of effective learning practices (formal and/or informal) 
  • Knowledge of the Christian faith and an ability to communicate its themes in an accessible way 
  • Confidence using Microsoft Office 

You will also:

  • Be proactive, organised and able to manage competing priorities 
  • Remain calm under pressure and adaptable in a busy environment 
  • Share and support the Cathedral’s mission and values 

The successful applicant will also be expected to share in St Paul’s Cathedral’s commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults. Please note that this position is subject to having clearance from the Disclosure and Barring Service at the Enhanced with Barred List level.
