Introduction

Are you a Vicar who longs to nurture faith, grow community, and lead a welcoming church with deep roots and big hopes for the future?

We are a vibrant, inclusive congregation across the two churches of All Saints, Frindsbury and St Philip & St James, Upnor.  We have a thriving and growing church family, a diverse and dedicated lay leadership team, and a number of committed volunteers just waiting to support you.

The right person for this role would be a vicar who delights in working with families, children and young people and can nurture this vital ministry with creativity and care.  Someone who can help the worshipping communities to grow, both numerically and spiritually, as well as enabling lay leadership to flourish.

What we offer:

  • A welcoming and supportive church family committed to worship and community life
  • Collaborative and capable staff leadership team, experienced PCC Team and committed prayer team  including Readers, an Anna Chaplain, and a Parish Administrator.
  • A strong Safeguarding culture.
  • Diverse and inclusive worshipping culture
  • Opportunity for family based engagement
  • Active and committed volunteers
  • A parish with excellent transport links, good schools, and growing local population.
  • A lively programme of worship, music, pastoral care, school links, and community events.
  • A Parish hall with good reliable source of income and a Parish Hall Team.
  • Churchyards fully maintained by the PCC and volunteers, and managed by Medway Council.

We are prayerfully seeking a collaborative and energetic leader who will:

  • Have the heart, energy and passion for mission, and be committed to community outreach and engagement.
  • Demonstrate strategic thinking and planning.
  • Inspire through biblically based teaching and preaching.
  • Be a clear and warm communicator, able to relate to all ages but particularly comfortable working with families, children and young people.
  • Be confident in leading a range of worship styles.
