St Nicholas Newport is embarking on a major new season of renewal and mission in partnership with the Diocese of Lincoln. With funding from the Strategic Development Fund, we are investing in growing our church family and becoming a vibrant hub at the heart of our community.

We are now seeking a passionate and inspiring Children and Families Worker to help lead this vision—someone who will build and grow a thriving ministry among children and families, both within the church and across the wider community.

We are currently in an exciting season of renewal, working in partnership with the Diocese of Lincoln to revitalise our parish, grow our church family, and deepen our impact in the local community. About the Role

This is a key role focused on developing and leading a vibrant, sustainable ministry that enables children and families to encounter God and grow in faith.

You will:

  • Shape and deliver a clear vision for children’s and families’ ministry
  • Lead engaging children’s provision within Sunday services
  • Develop midweek activities such as groups, events, and holiday clubs
  • Build strong, supportive relationships with families
  • Strengthen partnerships with local schools and community networks
  • Recruit, train, and support a team of volunteers
  • Ensure safeguarding is embedded in all aspects of the work
  • Play an active part in the life, worship, and mission of the church
