Area Dean of Oldham and Ashton 

Manchester Diocese has an inspiring vision and is making strong progress through a strategic programme of parish renewal, growing younger, church planting and developing missional leaders. Our full-time Area Deans play a key role in embedding this vision, supporting leaders and enabling change.

We are looking to appoint three priests who will offer confident and prayerful leadership. You will be creative in encouraging new forms of mission, passionate about developing clergy and lay leaders, and committed to implementing strategy across diverse communities and traditions.

Could God be calling you to join us in Manchester Diocese? 

The roles will focus on transforming our churches by leading and developing a clear strategy for the deaneries, identifying the opportunities for mission and growth, and driving through the changes that are needed in collaboration with other lay and ordained leaders. Alongside this, they will support all clergy in their deanery with their personal and professional development, act as mentors to newly ordained clergy, and work to strengthen the wellbeing of our clergy and lay leaders.

Successful candidates will have experience of the challenges of leading and managing change. They will have a good understanding of fruitful approaches to developing and growing the Church, as well as being experienced in ministerial life.
