Introduction

Vicar, Benefice of Skegby with Teversal

Diocese of Southwell & Nottingham

Ready to lead our benefice into a bold new chapter? The Benefice of Skegby with Teversal is seeking a prayerful, collaborative and mission-minded priest to help us grow in faith, deepen our mission and serve our communities with renewed confidence.

Our three churches — St Andrew’s, Skegby; All Saints’, Stanton Hill; and St Katherine’s, Teversal — are rooted in local life and ready for fresh vision, stronger discipleship and creative engagement with schools, families and the wider community.

We are looking for a priest who will:

  • Lead with vision, warmth and courage
  • Inspire lively faith, prayer and discipleship
  • Encourage lay gifts and release confident leadership
  • Build lively connections with children, young people and families
  • Make the Church visible, welcoming and active in the community
  • Unite three distinctive churches in shared mission and purpose

You will be supported by:

  • A benefice with energy, commitment and a shared heart for mission
  • Dedicated lay leaders, churchwardens and volunteers ready to work alongside you
  • Active community ministries and strong links with local schools
  • A supportive deanery and diocesan network
  • Administrative support
  • A spacious four-bedroom vicarage

Set on the Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire border, this is a varied and promising context — former mining communities, rural villages and growing residential areas — with real scope for imaginative mission and ministry.

If you are ready to help churches flourish, communities connect and people grow as disciples of Christ, we would love to hear from you.

To find out more and apply, please visit the Diocese of Southwell & Nottingham website. For an informal conversation about the role, please contact the Archdeacon of Newark’s office at adsupport@southwell.anglican.org.

Closing date – 14th October

Interviews – 4th / 5th November
