Overview

St Augustine’s is in a highly visible location in Medway on the corner of a busy junction.  With a diverse congregation we believe worship should be open to all, and we strive to be friendly and welcoming to all generations.

Main Responsibilities

Grow a church in which all ages are nurtured and can flourish

Be prayerful and missional, and enhance our own prayer ministry

Enable a variety of worship styles suitable for all ages

Care pastorally for all those in the church family and wider parish

Embrace and contribute to the realisation of the PCCs Community Vision

The Ideal Candidate

Someone who will: broaden the worship offering, utilising music and technology; be energetic, engaging and able to communicate easily across all age groups; work with our curate to provide a strong pastoral focus; demonstrate a commitment to using social media; and contribute to the work of the wider Gillingham Deanery. 

About us

We offer a committed and supportive church family with an exciting vision for the growth and development of our community through prayer, worship and action.  We are embarking on our community-focussed journey which has already seen us secure grant funding for Wi-Fi, a new Audio Visual system and find financial support for 200 chairs.  A new PCC will be elected in late September and is looking forward to welcoming a new priest. Days off are respected along with time for personal reflection and spiritual advice. Pre lockdown congregation attendance at the Sunday service averaged 65 with that on Thursdays just over 20. We host an increasingly successful Place of Welcome attracting some 30+ people most weeks. There is a four bedroomed Vicarage with garage and parking for four cars.
