Overview

The Bishop of Buckingham and St Leonards Church Trust seek to appoint a vicar for the joint Benefices of The Lee and the Chiltern Hilltop parishes of St Leonards, Cholesbury and Hawridge.

Situated in the rolling hills between Great Missenden, Wendover, Tring and Chesham, the parishes are part of Wendover deanery, with a population of just under 2,000.

We can offer:

• four welcoming, friendly and peaceful churches which are major focal points in their communities
• two Church of England primary schools
• congregations open to new ways of working together
• a broad range of worship, from lay-led breakfast services to BCP communion
• a four-bedroom semi-detached Rectory in The Lee, an area of outstanding natural beauty

We seek someone who:

• will share our spiritual journey, teach and develop us in faith
• will encourage us to be missional in our communities and schools
• is as comfortable engaging with people in local pubs, and attending local events, as they are in church
• has intellectual curiosity to help us explore the theological underpinning of our faith and meet our challenges
• will develop lay people to offer pastoral care both to ‘churched’ and ‘non-churched’ parishioners
• has a real love of engaging with families and a proven record of developing youth and family outreach
• has interests outside the parishes, to enrich their leadership and pastoral care within our community
