Vicar St John the Evangelist Lund (half-time)

Part-time Vicar, St John the Evangelist, Lund, Lancashire

Christ Church Oxford Patrons and the Bishop of Lancaster are seeking a half-time Vicar for St John the Evangelist, Lund.

Lund is a rural parish situated between Preston and Blackpool with a population of around 3500, situated close to the market town of Kirkham.  The local area is on cusp of significant, transformative investment and transport links are excellent to major towns, the Lake District, Trough of Bowland and Yorkshire Dales

Main Responsibilities

We are praying for a new Vicar: 

• who will bring vision, passion and a hunger to see God’s kingdom flourish;
• who is a bible-based teacher and effective communicator able to lead us into a deeper understanding of God’s message and life lived in all its fullness;
• who will be spirit-led and servant hearted, seeking God’s will and ambition for us as a church and in the world;
• who is a skilled enabler, with the ability to encourage, develop and release gifts amongst us;
• who has sensitivity, empathy and compassion for those who might be experiencing difficult times;
• who has the ability to inspire and relate to Christian and non-Christians alike drawing those in our wider communities to explore a relationship with Jesus and the Christian faith;
• who will bring a sense of ambition and seize the opportunity, with the new headteacher, to grow our church community through children and young people participating in church life every day in every way;
• who will be a figure head and ground themselves in our rural parish and community.

In return we are friendly and dedicated, open minded and receptive to change.  New ideas and forward thinking are welcomed to ensure the well-being of the parish and the growth of church.
