Introduction
Missing Generations Project Lead and Priest in Charge St George’s Everton (3 year fixed term post)
The role of Missing Generations Senior Lead and Priest in Charge of St George’s Everton is an opportunity to lead a £1m investment to grow church especially focused on the ‘missing generation’ of 11-29 year olds.
This is a unique opportunity for a leader whose heart beats a bit faster when faced with the challenge of growing the Kingdom of God in a more disadvantaged area of England, especially amongst Generation Zs.
Is this the sort of challenge that grabs you?
We are a church with welcome at its heart - a family of all ages and backgrounds. We’re informal, friendly - a bit rough around the edges, with Christ at the centre of all we do. There is huge opportunity for our new leader to build on this foundation, valuing all ages and life experiences, challenging us to step out in faith to reach those who are missing and to develop, encourage and build vibrant expressions of faith and hope at the heart of our communities.
There is an established team of lay and ordained colleagues, and you’ll be joining the project at a time when all the groundwork has been done to put in place the infrastructure and staffing you’ll need to support you. Now we need an inspiring and experienced leader to mentor those planting new congregations, and to keep the eyes of the team on the overall vision.
If this might be you, we’d love to hear from you!
Due to the evolving nature of the project, this post is offered on a 3 year basis initially, with the opportunity for the post holder to be part of shaping the necessary pastoral reorganisation as the project develops. Please don’t be put off by this: the Deanery do have the funding available for a post to be available in the longer term. We welcome applications both from people who are looking for an interim ministry – perhaps you’d like to make a big difference in your last few years before retirement? – and from people who would love this to develop into a longer term ministry in this place.
