Introduction

The Diocesan Advisory Committee for the Care of Churches (DAC) is the statutory body that advises on matters relating to the care and use of church buildings within the Diocese. We are currently looking for an DAC Administrator to join this small but busy team based at the Diocesan Office in Rochester.  This is a fixed term 5 year post.

The DAC Administrator will provide administrative support to the DAC team in ensuring statutory responsibilities and governance are implemented in line with legislation regarding church buildings.

The successful applicant should have strong attention to detail and have excellent organisational and planning skills with a proactive approach to work.  You must be an excellent communicator with the ability to use your own initiative.  A strong administrative background is essential ideally within an outward facing role. Experience gained in a property-based role/environment would be beneficial although not essential, as would an interest and understanding of church buildings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide admin support for DAC casework, keeping accurate records
  • Assist in the administration and preparation for DAC meetings
  • Take calls from clergy, parishes, archdeacons and diocesan staff, triaging matters to DAC colleagues as appropriate
  • Assist parishes with the application process on the Online Faculty System

A full list of responsibilities can be found on the job description attached.

What we can offer:

  • Flexible working, hybrid working and TOIL
  • Generous holiday entitlement
  • Contributory pension scheme
  • Annual subscriptions and memberships
  • Access to an Employee Assistance Programme and counselling service

The Diocese is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults. All post holders and volunteers are expected to share this commitment.

The wider a group’s diversity, the smarter, wiser, and more compassionate and creative its decision making becomes.

We are committed to achieving diversity throughout our Diocese by seeking UKME/GMH colleagues and those from a wide-range of backgrounds, to help us create a culture of inclusion and belonging.

If you have any questions about the role or application process, please contact the HR department at recruitment@rochester.anglican.org
