Who we are
The Diocese of York is the Church of England between the Rivers Humber and Tees, and from the Yorkshire coast westwards to around the A1. We are seeking to Live Christ’s Story (LCS) by becoming more like Christ, reaching people we currently don’t, growing churches of missionary disciples, and transforming our finances and structures.
What we’re looking for
We are seeking an experienced and proactive Programme Manager to take the lead in defining and embedding a robust reporting framework across our flagship transformation initiative. You will provide guidance and support to ensure our workstreams and projects are programme managed effectively. Your work will play a critical role in directly support the successful delivery of a diverse and impactful programme designed to revitalise our mission and ministry.
About the role
This is an externally-funded role, funded by a significant grant of Capacity Funding from the national Archbishops’ Council, supporting our ambitious vision for growth across the diocese.
This role will support the work of the Head of Programme Delivery (HoPD), who is responsible for developing the approach to controlling and delivering the overall diocesan strategic plan, driving the implementation of that approach, and ensuring that the whole transformation programme is managed and controlled for successful realisation of the LCS vision and goals.
About you
You will have:
- Proven experience in programme or large-scale project management, preferably in a transformation or strategic delivery context.
- Strong analytical, planning and communication skills, with the ability to influence at senior levels.
- Experience working across multiple workstreams with a strong grasp of risk management, governance and change delivery.
- A collaborative and flexible approach, with the confidence to lead and advise others.
