Vicar of St John, Meads

St John the Evangelist Meads is a vibrant, growing and welcoming church community, located in Eastbourne where the South Downs meets the sea. Our ethos is open evangelical, while offering both contemporary and traditional services. We are a single parish benefice and the only worshipping community in Meads.

We will welcome and support a vicar who is:

• A person of deep spirituality, who walks closely with the Lord and who has a passion to draw people to Jesus Christ
• Someone who is open to and guided by the Holy Spirit, gently charismatic while able to embrace traditional worship styles
• An effective communicator with a deep knowledge of and intimacy with the Bible, and the ability to apply it to daily life
• A servant-hearted, enabling leader, comfortable with allowing both men and women to minister
• Willing to embrace all-age ministry and to continue the efforts to grow the church younger
• Someone with a strong vision for the role of a community church in the modern age
