Introduction

Area Dean of Manchester South and Stretford

Manchester Diocese has an inspiring vision for 2030. We’re making good progress towards achieving this with the development of a wide range of initiatives, all designed to release missional energy. Our full-time Area Deans are now fully embedded in the life of our diocese and have a key role to play in leading these changes and supporting their implementation.

We are looking to appoint a priest with experience of the challenges of leading and managing change and who will be creative in encouraging new forms of mission and ministry.

Could God be calling you to join us in Manchester Diocese?

The role will focus on transforming our churches by leading and developing a clear strategy for the Deanery of Manchester South and Stretford, identifying the opportunities for mission and growth, and driving through the changes that are needed in collaboration with other lay and ordained leaders. Alongside this, they will support all clergy in Manchester South and Stretford with their personal and professional development, act as mentors to newly ordained clergy, and work to strengthen the wellbeing of our clergy and lay leaders.

The successful candidate will have experience of the challenges of leading and managing change. They will have a good understanding of fruitful approaches to developing and growing the Church, as well as being experienced in ministerial life.
