An exciting post to serve the community of a major secondary school in a chaplaincy, youth worker role and establish and lead new ways of worshipping whilst supported by a loving and open parish church.

This is a full-time post based in Park Community School, Leigh Park and building faith and a new worshipping community on the vibrant estate. It has funding for 5 years initially, and will use your skills from youthwork, chaplaincy and the ability to lead and encourage those new to faith.

The newly appointed Pioneer Youth Worker will
  • offer pastoral support to pupils at Park Community School via a chaplaincy-style approach during school time 
  • work on invitational and worship activity within the school day
  • establish a new worshipping community with discipleship opportunities for adults and children
  • link the schools work clearly with the existing church congregation and activity to provide a coherent but mixed ecology in the parish

This role is part of our diocese's Vision and Strategy for the next five years, which includes plans to create new church plants and worshipping communities across our diocese. 

It is open to those who are lay or ordained, but a vibrant Christian faith is required. 
Salary in the range £33,000-£34,000 with generous operating budget
