Introduction
We are seeking a passionate,inspirational and dedicated Primary School Chaplain and Children and Youth Worker to nurture the development of children and young people within Brenchley and Matfield CE Primary School, and All Saints' Church, Brenchley.
The chaplaincy element of the role involves working alongside the Vicar of All Saints in the school to plan and deliver collective worship twice a week, to organise and deliver a range of faith-based activities, all with the aim of embedding the school's Christian vision and values as well as linking strongly to All Saints' Church.
The youth and children's worker element of the role at All Saints forms a central part of the church's ministry, to involve the whole family in the worship life of the church. It will include leading weekly and Sunday youth sessions, leading youth worship, attending and and supporting an annual youth camp, planning and delivering family services and junior church sessions, and a range of engaging outreach activities for younger children and their families/carers.
You will be required to meet administrative and safeguarding requirements of working with children and youth.
What we're looking for:
• A committed Christian with a deep personal bible-based faith and a passion for sharing the Gospel with children and young people.
• A communicant member of the Church of England, or of other allied Churches.
• Experience in leading children’s and youth ministry within a school or church setting.
• Ability to communicate effectively with children, young people, parents, and school staff.
• Strong organisational and administrative skills.
• Ability to plan and deliver engaging and interactive sessions tailored to different age groups.
• A heart for pastoral care and discipleship.
• Understanding of safeguarding policies and willingness to undertake relevant training
• Experience of working with volunteers and supporting a team.
Salary & Benefits:
• £22500, negotiable
• Part-time (3.5 days /week, including Sundays). Flexibility to extend the hours.
