Full-time Parish Priest for Stony Stratford with Calverton, Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire
Vacancy Reference cofe/TP/111022/8792
Introduction
We are a parish in the north-west corner of Milton Keynes, serving the town of Stony Stratford, the rural villages of Calverton, Upper, Middle and Lower Weald, suburbs of Galley Hill and Fullers Slade, plus the growing communities of Fairfields and Whitehouse.
As a family in Christ, we enjoy worshipping with both Anglo-Catholic and mainstream Anglican liturgy in our congregations. This has enriched our worship by bringing together Christians of many different denominations and cultures from around the world. Alongside our regular services, the connection to St Mary and St Giles School allows school services to welcome children and teachers from different walks of life and religions.
Serving with a sense of humour and energy our priest will help us actively reach out to children, families and people outside the church bringing the Gospel into everyone’s daily life.
St Mary and St Giles Church is situated in the centre of Stony Stratford and the parish always strives to make it the hub of what goes on in town. All Saints Church is part of the rural farming community of Calverton and provides us with breathing space and a wonderful place for many outdoor activities. Our congregations include people from the new development areas and older Milton Keynes estates.
The parish has an effective PCC ready to welcome and support the new priest in serving the many opportunities in the parish. The presence of a curate's house plus collaboration with MK Deanery gives us flexibility to minister in multiple ways.
As an old coaching town of Stony Stratford and surrounding area, our parish has been welcoming people for hundreds of years, so the new priest will be assured of a thoroughly warm welcome.
