Vacancy Reference cofe/TP/58414/8951
Introduction
St Michael’s, Southwick.
Priest-in- Charge
Deanery of Hove
St Michael’s Southwick is looking for a new parish priest with a willingness to love and serve God’s people and the local community.
The primary qualities being sought are a warm heart, a deep love of God, the gift of instilling reverence in worship, and a capacity to love people through times of change.
St Michael’s is characterised by
- Generous and committed lay leaders
- A parsonage, church and church hall that work well together
- A congregation wanting to grow and develop
- A central church tradition
- A large fringe of people who attend major festivals
- An interesting and diverse parochial context
There are also some exciting possibilities for partnerships with other parishes, and this may entail pastoral reorganisation. The new parish priest will therefore be in a position to help fashion and shape the Church’s response to the missional opportunities in this part of the deanery of Hove.
