Vicar of Blackpool St Paul North Shore in plurality with Greenlands St Anne
Vacancy Reference cofe/TP/70992/9403
Introduction
Are you a prayerful, people-centred priest with a strong call to urban ministry, a heart for community and a desire to make a real difference?
We are two welcoming churches in the Diocese of Blackburn, working in plurality and rooted in our local communities. Our churches are active and vibrant, with regular worship, community events, and outreach programmes. Each has its own character and tradition—St Paul’s is of central Anglican tradition while St Anne’s is more Catholic with a strong Eucharistic focus. Both affirm the ministry of female priests. Together, we share a commitment to growth, pastoral care and outreach. We are strongly committed to generous service of some of the most deprived neighbourhoods in the UK.
We’re looking for someone who:
- Is approachable, resilient, and has a good sense of humour.
- Has energy and drive to help us grow spiritually and numerically.
- Brings vision and imagination to urban ministry and can help us rethink how we use our buildings
- Can work across two churches with different traditions.
- Will be a visible presence in our communities and at church events.
- Is a good communicator and listener, able to engage with all ages and backgrounds.
- Respects our inclusive ethos and healing ministry.
You’ll be supported by:
- A dedicated LLM, committed PCCs, and enthusiastic congregations.
- Strong community links, including schools, nurseries, care homes, and local councillors.
- A Diocese that values clergy wellbeing, offering sabbaticals, mentoring, and ongoing training.
We are committed to supporting our new priest and ensuring they have time for rest, renewal, and personal growth.
