Introduction

The Bishop of Newcastle wishes to appoint an Incumbent (House for Duty) to the Benefice of Kirkwhelpington with Kirkharle and Kirkheaton, and Cambo in the Deanery of Morpeth

Might God be calling you to serve in these friendly parishes in an area of outstanding natural beauty in central Northumberland? The parishes are rural, yet only 30 minutes from Newcastle and a few minutes from the picturesque market town of Morpeth. We are praying for a priest who will re-invigorate our worshipping life, deepen our spirituality, grow our congregations larger, younger and more diverse, and help our churches to be outward-looking towards the wider communities.

Main Responsibilities

To be a lively and engaged presence in the worshipping communities and beyond, helping the parishes to thrive. 

To further encourage and enable lay leadership. 

To develop local action plans which align with the diocesan vision of ‘Seeking, Sharing, Sending’, making best use of buildings and of financial and human resource.
