Introduction

The Archdeaconry of Berkshire

Team Vicar

The Benefice of Hermitage

Are you looking for a mission focused role in a community where you will be loved, supported and valued?

Are you an outward looking, people-oriented person looking for new opportunities to use your skills in the next stage in your ministry?

Do you have a passion for seeing churches and communities thrive and the skills to support them to grow into all God is calling them to be?

The Hermitage Team, a group of seven churches in rural West Berkshire, are seeking a new mission focus Team Vicar to join our team and help us lead our churches into the future, working alongside our Team Rector, Nicola.

We are seeking a Team Vicar who will

  • Manage a portfolio of independent leadership responsibilities across our churches guided by their missional needs
  • Guide and support our churches to develop new missional and outreach initiatives including developing new forms of worship
  • Value, encourage and equip lay leaders
  • Build strong relationships in our community, particularly with our four Church of England Primary Schools

As a Team we are committed to offering a positive working environment where your own personal and spiritual needs are supported.

Informal visits to get to know the villages that make up our team are warmly encouraged. Please contact our Team Rector, Reverend Nicola Hulks to arrange a visit at rector@hermitage-team.org.uk.

All appointments are subject to acceptable pre-appointment checks, including a satisfactory Enhanced DBS Check.

The Diocese is committed to a high level of training and support for our clergy.  Successful candidates who are taking up posts of first responsibility will be expected to participate in Pastoral Supervision Groups.
