Introduction

(HfD) Priest-in-Charge of St Mary’s, Kemp Town, Brighton

A compassionate, enthusiastic and committed church family, in the vibrant and eclectic area of Kemp Town, is looking for a man or woman of inclusive catholic persuasion to be their new parish priest. Together with leading the day-to-day ministry, expect some surprises and challenges where no day will ever be the same.

We are looking for someone who:

•Has a fresh story of faith in Jesus Christ to tell

•Is a champion of inclusion and belonging

•Embraces and values diversity

•Has passion for the role the church can play in an urban community

•Is comfortable with ambiguity and the unexpected

There is an enthusiastic and dedicated lay leadership. The parsonage is a three-story town house within walking distance of the church. This is a unique context in which to serve, with a committed PCC, and a context where all facets of life can be experienced.

This is a House for Duty post, with an expectation that the office holder will give the equivalent of 2.5 days per week, including all or part of Sunday.
