Introduction

At St John’s, we are a vibrant and growing church family, committed to deepening our Christian faith and living out our mission to “share God’s love with all in Little Thornton and beyond.” We are proud to be a diverse community, welcoming everyone in Jesus’ name. Over the past nine years, we have worked intentionally to make our church building a true community hub, a place where faith and fellowship meet everyday life. 

After the appointment of our previous incumbent as Archdeacon of Blackburn, the Bishop of Lancaster would like to appoint a prayerful and compassionate priest to lead this vibrant and welcoming parish who will:

• Have a deep love of God and reliance on the Holy Spirit, valuing both traditional worship and creative worship expressions
• Inspire through Biblical teaching and nurture discipleship so faith flourishes
• Lead with warmth, encouragement and a sense of humour
• Empower others to lead, nurture vocation and lay leadership
• Share our enthusiasm for mission, particularly with families and young people
