Generous Giving Adviser

Introduction
The Diocese of Newcastle is looking to build capacity within the existing Generous Giving Team by appointing a new Generous Giving Adviser to work with parishes across the diocese. The role offers the opportunity to make a real impact in our worshipping communities, enabling mission and ministry to flourish through generous living and giving.
The focus of the role is to support parish leadership teams (both lay and ordained) to develop and promote a clear vision for Christian giving by building on and encouraging a culture of generosity and enabling giving through a variety of mechanisms. This includes helping parishes to create an annual giving strategy that supports their local vision, as well as the diocesan vision and sustainability through the parish share mechanism.
You will need to have a passion for helping people grow in their personal discipleship and understand the theology and biblical principles of Christian giving and generosity as a part of that discipleship journey. You will need excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills along with good listening skills and an ability to read situations and respond effectively.
Your experience should include; managing initiatives that encourage giving or participation, motivating and empowering people or organisations to pursue new ideas and behaviours to achieve shared goals, using digital tools for communications and giving, developing relationships, analysing and interpreting data, and delivering excellent results on time and in line with agreed objectives.
This post will be based at Church House, St John’s Terrace, Percy Main, North Shields NE29 6HS, with the opportunity for some home working by agreement. The expectation is that the post holder will also travel within the Diocese to meet with parishes during the course of their working week and have an ability to work flexible hours when necessary, which may include occasional evening and weekend commitments as required.
A Genuine Occupational Requirement exists for the post holder to be a practicing Christian.
This role is currently funded for three years.
