Introduction

Team Vicar (House for Duty) for Launditch and Upper Nar, with responsibility for Beeston-next-Mileham, Bittering Parva, Gt and Lt Fransham, Gt Dunham and Lt Dunham

The South Launditch parishes are excited to be looking for a priest to take them forward after a period of change. Our five small rural parishes are currently part of the Launditch and Upper Nar team. Consultation is underway for a pastoral scheme separating these parishes into a new benefice to be called South Launditch, under which the Team Vicar would be named as the first incumbent. We work well together and are committed to moving forward and optimistic about future possibilities for mission as a smaller benefice.

We are looking for a priest who will

•      be a figurehead for the Church, promoting Christian life relevant to modern living, active and well-known in our communities, bringing stability and caring leadership.

•      provide pastoral support, reaching out into the communities to those in need, and supporting life events.

•      maintain a pattern of regular Sunday services: Holy Communion, Morning Prayer Family Services and festivals at special times.

  • Working together with the PCCs in shared commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults
  • look for opportunities to create a new worshipping community so that we are able to grow in the breadth of our provision and become younger and more diverse as a church family.

•      be keen to encourage families, children and young adults in the life of the Church and build links with the 2 schools in the parishes.

•      offer baptism, marriage and funeral services at each church and actively seek to build on these opportunities for growth
