Introduction

Honorary Coordinating Chaplain – St MaryinCastro, Dover Castle

St MaryinCastro (SMC), the historic former Garrison Church within the grounds of Dover Castle, is seeking an Honorary Coordinating Chaplain to lead and nurture its dedicated congregation and vibrant Ministry Team.

SMC offers traditional, liturgical Anglican worship in a uniquely atmospheric setting, welcoming around 25–30 people each Sunday. The church has strong and valued military links, hosting a range of commemorative services for veterans, cadets and military associations throughout the year.

We are looking for a priest who brings pastoral warmth, a commitment to teaching and an enthusiasm for sustaining our longstanding military heritage. The role includes coordinating worship across the Ministry Team, supporting the spiritual life of the congregation, and working collaboratively with English Heritage, who care for this remarkable building.

This is an honorary post requiring around 2–3 hours a week on average, plus Sunday preparation when rostered. All expenses are covered and a full Church Council and officers are in place.

To express interest or request further information, please contact the Church Council at St MaryinCastro:     vergerincastro@live.co.uk

Closing date for applications: 10 April 2026
