Introduction

(HfD) Priest-in-Charge of Pevensey

Pevensey, close to Eastbourne on England’s south coast, is a parish of two churches. Our population of 3,200 is found in the historic village of Pevensey and in the coastal strip of Pevensey Bay. Both churches share a modern sacramental tradition.

The Bishop of Chichester is seeking to appoint a House for Duty Priest-in-Charge for the parish.

The post is offered with the expectation the post holder will give the equivalent of 2.5 days per week including all or part of Sunday. The PCC will support proper boundaries and patterns of working for this part-time post. The four-bedroom detached house is newly purchased for this post, and is situated close to the beachfront.

The parish is seeking a priest who will care for our communities, encourage the signs of growth we are seeing, and continue the tradition of collaborative working both within our two churches and with neighbouring parishes.
