Archdeacon of Wells and Residentiary Canon of Wells Cathedral

Introduction

The Diocese of Bath and Wells is seeking an Archdeacon of Wells who will play a key part in enabling the life, growth and mission of our parishes. They will support clergy and lay leaders and help shape the future of our diocese. The Archdeacon will also be a residentiary canon of Wells, offering 10% of their ministerial contribution to the life and worship of our cathedral.

• Able to bring practical wisdom and creativity to support mission, collaboration, and good governance across the Archdeaconry of Wells and Wells Cathedral.

• Able to share in collective responsibility for the leadership of our diocese and cathedral, drawing on the strengths of all.

• A good listener and a natural communicator, able to speak up for our diocese, the deaneries of the Wells Archdeaconry and our parishes, schools and chaplaincies.
