0.5 Interim Priest-in-Charge of Rottingdean
(Deanery of Brighton)
The Acting Bishop of Chichester is seeking to appoint a new vicar to the lovely seaside village of Rottingdean, a couple of miles to the east of Brighton and a single parish benefice. The church is at the heart of the village, it has been beautifully reordered, and the opportunities for an energetic priest, working with this willing and committed congregation, are considerable.
This post has been designated as a 3-year interim appointment under Regulation 29 (1)(j) of the Ecclesiastical Offices (Terms of Service) Regulations 2009. Possible pastoral reorganisation is at an early stage of exploration.
The appointed man or woman will:
- Have a cheerful faith
- Be able to develop the gifts of the laity and share ministry
- Be a teacher and encourager of faith
- Be able to connect village life with the Kingdom of God.
- Animate traditional worship and innovate contemporary worship
- Develop fruitful relations with the church school
- Be comfortable in an inclusive church culture
This post has been designated as a 3-year interim appointment under Regulation 29 (1)(j) of the Ecclesiastical Offices (Terms of Service) Regulations 2009. Possible pastoral reorganisation is at an early stage of exploration.
This is a 0.5 post, with an expectation that the office holder will give the equivalent of 3.5 days per week, including all or part of Sunday.
